ZAGA BIO

ZAGA has been making electronic music in a wide range of genres, as well as producing for indie bands. He likes to experiment with innovative sound design and composition, with tuning atonal harmonic frequencies, taking advantage of psychoacoustics, wavetable synthesis, glitch effects, re-synthesis and other techniques.

He makes interactive music experiences and visuals, using fractal art, shaders, 3D modelling and game engines.

ZAGA is also working on an open source alternative to hearing aids and has coded several audio processing tools, such as a DSP in Rust that's tuned for voice-cleaning in private messengers, or a browser compression normalizer, bringing comfort, accessibility and privacy to our relationship with sound. He is commited to making equittable technology, and has collaborated with organisations that believe the same. He is based in Montreal, QC.

INTERACTIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCES

made with the Godot game engine, with sound-reactive minigames and shaders. Playable on desktop and mobile.

live-coded music

Every so often, and for a special handful of performances, ZAGA live-codes music in SuperCollider. An extensive knowledge of digital synthesis comes in handy here, as the code reverse-engineers the wave forms of popular synths to achieve this elevated, polished sound beyond what people have come to expect from algorave music.
